Domaining is a common business in the online world and refers to the business of buying, selling and monetizing Internet domain names. Since every online business has an active site, they also have a registered domain name. As internet sales continue to grow, so does the need for domain names. The actual intent when using a domain name is to generate advertising revenue. The domain names are the addresses on the web and are available in a wide variety of extensions including .com, .net and .org. These domain names are carefully chosen and include marketable names and catch phrases. It has been reported that over 15,000 people make buying and selling domain names their primary business. It is a service that is needed for many online business when they first get started. Acquiring a domain name is simple if website owners employ the help of domainers. Domaining is a multi-million dollar online business and continues to be profitable for those involved as either buyers or sellers.
The commercial resale of domain names has been popular and profitable. Domains that are related to business and gambling have become very popular and in demand because of their importance in attracting internet clients. Many domain names lapse, expire or are deleted annually. Selling these pre-existing domain names can be very profitable. The resale of business.com is known to be the most expensive domain name to date coming in at $7.5 million. Many times, the sale of generic domain names will prove to be profitable. These generic domain names such as books.com or movies.com attract clients seeking services or products who type in a generic name during a search. These generic domain names are also easy for users to remember and add to the potential of returning customers.
The domain business did slow down for a while, but is rapidly on the rise again. There is a high demand for new domain names that attract target audiences and promote specific products. The most important part of a domain name is that it is easily searchable and can be remembered by users. The domain name is what draws traffic to the site and generates revenue. Every online business and independent website has a registered domain name. These names were created and sold to the user for a set fee and should they lapse or expire, may be resold for an additional profit. Selling and buying domain names is a common practice that is becoming increasingly popular once again. It is a chance to own and operate an online business by providing a domain service to those in need of a new domain name.
Domaining is a big business that is still growing. This opportunity should not be overlooked by those who are looking for additional income of even a full time profitable online business. Since there are an abundance of active websites online, finding the perfect domain name may be a painstaking process. Most of the “good” names are taken and will not expire or lapse because they are so successful. For those looking to conduct a domaining business, the best chance for success is to search for expired names and resell them. The need for good domain names is never ending, and domaining can be an extremely rewarding and profitable business. Reselling domain names is the route to travel. Though this may take more time and effort than providing a new and original domain name, the possibilities of sales are higher when using a domain name that has already been registered and used. Website owners are willing to pay high prices to get a domain name that will help their business. Domaining is simply advertising, and can be a lucrative business to invest in.

1A very informative post. I wonder though how many people set out with their websites and realise there is a saleable item. I have found this to be the case except I have a few sub folders working for me that bring in a high revenue in places where I would not have considered. My main site would be good to sell but everything hanging off it is a gem. Due to this I could not possibly sell my site but rather hang on to it. I have since learnt though when building a site that it is one site only and no branches come from it. Thanks for the post, this has been something I have looked into, especially when parking some high response domains.
